Rooted in Community. Ready to Lead.

“Bev brings a deep understanding of the land and track record of community service, to the role of Councillor. I support her vision to champion agriculture, preserve the rural quality of life, and improve fiscal responsibility.”

- Cherie Copithorne-Barnes, Manager, CL Ranches, 2nd Vice-Chair, Calgary Stampede Board

With deep roots in Rocky View and extensive service to our community, I’m ready to lead it forward.

My family has lived and worked on this land for over 140 years. I’m proud to be a fourth-generation resident, and I carry with me a deep sense of responsibility to protect and preserve the place we all call home. This land has shaped who I am. I grew up here, I work here, and I’ve built my life here—this isn’t just where I live, it’s part of me.

My husband Steve and I live on our family ranch in Jumping Pound. Together we enjoy helping out on the ranch, road trip adventures, camping, and tinkering with my 1958 VW Bug.

I’ve spent nearly 20 years working in education and the non-profit sector—building partnerships, advocating for families, and delivering real results. Currently, I work as a teacher for Rocky View Schools, and also serve on several local boards:

  • Vice Chair, Family and Community Support Services Board (Rocky View County)

  • Member at Large, Subdivision and Development Appeal Board (Rocky View County)

  • Board Member, Jumping Pound Community Hall Association

  • Board Member, Cochrane Foothills Protective Association

These roles have given me the insight, experience, and leadership skills needed to navigate complex challenges while staying grounded in what matters most: the people and community we share, and this special place we call home.
